On the evening of June 6, the MASA stage will feature music dedicated to some of the greatest jazz saxophonists of all time, among them Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Joshua Redman, Grover Washington Jr. and others. The program blends the sound of classic and contemporary jazz, reflecting each artist’s unique tone, style, and influence.
Andrey Polovko – a saxophonist recently relocated to Riga, plays tenor and soprano saxophones, flute, and clarinet. Has participated in numerous international jazz projects with renowned artists.
Madars Kalniņš – pianist with over 30 years of jazz experience, graduate of the Latvian State Conservatory, and nominee for multiple music awards.
Beāte Meirāne – double bassist and bass guitarist, a graduate of JVLMA’s jazz department, performs in various ensembles in Latvia and abroad.
Artis Orubs – drummer educated in Utrecht, Amsterdam, and JVLMA conservatories, recorded extensively and performed with world-class jazz musicians.
